PSD Issues Preventive Safety Guidelines Amid Regional Escalation
The Public Security Directorate (PSD) has outlined key preventive measures in response to ongoing regional escalation and military threats, emphasizing citizen safety as a top priority.
Warning Sirens:
• Sirens will sound when necessary until 1:00 PM, with any schedule changes announced immediately.
• Three intermittent sirens signal an active threat.
• One continuous siren indicates the threat has ended (all-clear).
• When three sirens are heard, residents should remain where they are and avoid movement. Those outdoors should take shelter in the nearest building until it is safe.
• Stay away from windows and exposed areas; if possible, position yourself near concrete stairwells for added protection.
Fallen or Suspicious Objects:
• Do not approach, touch, move, or attempt to open any unfamiliar or fallen object, as it may contain dangerous explosives.
• Keep a safe distance and avoid gathering at the site to allow specialized teams to respond safely.
• Report immediately by calling 911 if you spot fallen objects, drones, missiles, injuries, or property damage.
• Inform family members, especially children, about the dangers of unknown objects and the importance of reporting them.
• Avoid spreading rumors or sharing unverified photos or videos; rely only on official sources for accurate information.
The PSD emphasized that strict adherence to these instructions is essential to protecting lives and property while enabling emergency services to operate efficiently and swiftly.
