Multiple fact-checks have confirmed that the footage was generated using artificial intelligence, and there is no evidence that such a drone tribute took place in Madeira. While Ronaldo's World Cup farewell sparked an emotional response from fans around the world, the spectacular aerial tribute circulating online is not real. 

The clip quickly became another example of just how convincing AI-generated videos have become. Many viewers believed the tribute was genuine, especially given the emotional timing following Portugal's World Cup exit and Ronaldo's historic international career.
