Climate activist Greta Thunberg with 11 other human rights advocates aboard the Madleen, a ship that set sail from Catania, Italy, toward the Gaza Strip. Operated by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, the mission aims to break "Israel’s" blockade on Gaza and deliver much-needed humanitarian aid.

In an emotional speech before departure, Thunberg said, “The moment we stop trying is when we lose our humanity.” She emphasized that while the mission is dangerous, the silence of the world in the face of a live-streamed genocide is far worse.

The flotilla hopes to draw global attention to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and challenge the ongoing restrictions that have cut off vital supplies to the besieged population.
