Spain has officially scrapped a $325 million arms deal with “Israeli” defense giant Rafael, originally signed to supply anti-tank missiles to its army. The agreement was finalized just four days before October 7, 2023 but as the humanitarian disaster in Gaza escalates, Spain is pulling back.

Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has openly condemned “Israel,” calling it a genocidal state, while Spain’s Defense Ministry confirmed plans to reduce all military dependence on “Israel.”

In parallel, Barcelona City Council voted to cut official ties with the “Israeli” government and suspend its symbolic friendship agreement with Tel Aviv, citing violations of international law and human rights.

Spain’s actions mark a growing shift in international accountability and solidarity with the Palestinian people.
