Jordan Gets an Unexpected Taste of Autumn ๐ง๏ธ๐
Just when we thought summer wasnโt going anywhere, Jordan decided to give us a preview of autumn.
Temperatures took a noticeable dip across Jordan over the weekend, bringing cooler air, cloudy skies, stronger winds and rain to parts of the Kingdom. In Amman, temperatures dropped to around 26โ27ยฐC on Sunday, while rain showers were possible across parts of the capital and central areas.
A Very Un-August Kind of Weather
The sudden change was especially noticeable after weeks of hot summer weather. The Jordan Meteorological Department reported a significant drop in temperatures on Sunday, with moderate conditions across most highland areas and rain expected in northern and central parts of the country. Thunderstorms were also possible, particularly in the north.
Amman also saw strong winds and scattered showers, while some forecasts indicated the possibility of thunderstorms and hail around the capital.
The unsettled conditions were short-lived, though. By Monday, temperatures had started to climb again, although they remained below their usual levels for this time of year. A further gradual rise was expected through Tuesday and Wednesday.
So, no summer isnโt officially over just yet.
But for a few hours, with the rain, cool breeze and cloudy skies, Jordan definitely felt like it had skipped ahead a few weeks.
Consider this your early warning: sweater season is coming. ๐๐
